As a Milibois event this one was Tough, the team was spread across 5 different Squads.
Rak-01 was a PL
RAK-02, RAK-04 and RAK-12 were manning the Technical
RAK-05 ran with CanaOps
RAK-07, RAK-10 & RAK-11 ran with a mixed based Squad
RAK-08 ran with The Raiders
RAK-01 Take Away
as a PL, he was on the field for 90% of the day, he also was suffering from a mild case of Pneumonia.
For the better part of the Day he was charged with defending and fighting for the City Block, along with the entire Right side of the field
– Notable Missions –
– During the first few hours, RAK-01 was tasked along with the other PL’s in finding an Archaeologist dig site, because of all the Sand and fighting, the package was beyond buried under the sand, it took the better half of the event to locate it
– During that time frame RAK-01 also searched the area with Commands 2IC And had many engagements with the enemy.
– the enemy had a decent foothold of the City Block for better part of the event, while Command TFA & the Skunks, RAK-01 was able to take the Block back several times
– during the night operation RAK-01 was tasked with negotiations with a Local terrorist cell, in the purchase of a Bomb,.. The negotiations went sideways when the Correct amount of money was not given to RAK-01, his mistake for not counting it. Unfortunately one of the Brothers was wearing an IED vest and Detonated in front of the Technical. RAK-01 and other members of Alpha were not harmed, but some casualties were taken, RAK-01 was able to secure the device and return it to CP
– with the support of the Technical, RAK-01 and a small contingent of Alpha was able to secure the Flag in front of the Enemy’s CP, it was held for just over an hour. Major points were scored during this time, as Alpha had all flags in their favor.
– the evening time fighting was intense RAK-01 kept the troops rallied and in the fight right till dawn
– Event Ended with about 75% of players still in the game
– rak-01 Won MVP of the Game for Alpha
RAK-07, RAK-10 & RAK-11 Events
Day start
- Brand new team of rando’s took a lot of time to gel, nobody knew each other’s callsigns or play styles
- Spent most of the quarter on the north road looking for a box we weren’t sure existed.
Evening
- We had seen most of the field by this time so were able to make objectives on time and follow orders much more confidently.
- Not a whole lot was asked of FFR, it felt like we wandered a lot.
Nighttime
- RAK-07, RAK-10 & RAK-11 leading the way 90% of the time, very little use of white light even in the deeper woods unless fully engaged.
- RAK-11 & RAK-10 would push off the trail and draw attention with sound while utilizing heavy brush as excellent cover against thermal and NV as RAK-07 would spot targets and mark with goonbeam. Great success, very nice.
- The rest of FFR (including nco) didn’t really push with us, as expected.
- Successfully hitting the town and clearing Bravo 3 times over the night was the morale boost we needed to keep pushing all the way through the morning
- Lack of squad history/cohesion leads to massive attrition.
Daybreak
- With the power of god, anime, and chicken soup on our side we out-played most teams with much better gear than us due to movement and initiative. All remaining FFR members were fully committed and out for blood.
- Ended the game right outside the enemy base waiting for permission to raid it, since the status of the fuel depot mission was unclear.
Missions
- Find the crate. Terrible, nobody knew what was going on!
- Medivac (?) the raccoons were the backbone of the push. FFR with a hard flank down the middle of town and smoking Bravo’s technical with a chalk grenade…. unfortunately the driver didn’t seem to think it counted as a hit.
- Blow up the gas depot. We pushed right into the depot and smoked bussy for an hour, but the bomb team never followed and the situation with the bird bangers made it unclear whether we were still allowed to set off fireworks at all.
Key events
- Hitting town the first time. Cleared the entire town up to the last few buildings closest to the field entrance, completely disrupting Bravo’s medevac mission
- Full milibois push into town
Key Learning
- RAK-07, RAK-10 & RAK-11 would make a better recce trio than put on a rando squad. Our bush wookie skills were under-utilized.
- We need to take morning dew a lot more seriously at camp and in the field
- The smooth brain is so powerful, call and response phrases are useless PID
